Semi-Submersible Tour Setting sail from Tomorrow Land to the open sea.

"Professor
Aronnax, I presume?" Baby Boomers, rejoice: The Nautilus sub is alive
and well and bobbing like a cork in the shallows of Catalina's waters. The
beloved submarine ride of retro- Disney lore is reborn as an actual
seagoing vessel, embarking on regularly scheduled recons of the marine
preserve between Avalon Bay and Lover's Cove. Technically a semi-submersible,
this yellow submarine takes glass-bottom boat tours to the next, er,
fathom. Passengers sit in front of individual viewing portals along the
hull, while enough fresh air is pumped into the sub to relax even the most
claustrophobic sailor. Black running lights rigged to the boat's exterior
bring out unexpected hues in the already vibrant fish. You can even
"feed the fish" with video-game-style "torpedo blasts"
of food pellets while computer graphics display encyclopedic information about
the sea life. But all of this is gilding the lily on a Jules-Vernian scale;
the unsurpassed undersea beauty is enough to induce tears. The sub glides
silently through cathedrals of California giant kelp, jack mackerel,
garibaldi and opaleye; you may also spot barracuda and sheephead. -- WEBSITE-TO-GO!
