This well-kept shop, unchanged in our lifetime, is a public extension of
Evett's private passion. Outside, the horseshoe-shaped counters display the
current offerings of perennial manufacturers like Revell, Monogram,
Traxxas, JR Radios and all the "strings and ceiling wax" needed
to assemble your own Piper Cub dreams. Within and out of reach, but not
quite out of sight, is where Colby Evett raises scale airships of
unbelievable accuracy. Customers and friends are encouraged to build their
own entries to local "fly-ins" cosponsored by Evett's and the Los
Angeles Model Airports. Scale replicas of Boeing Jumbo jets, F-16 fighters
and the pride of the Yankees, the YF-22 advanced strategic fighter are
powered by actual tiny jet engines and the expert skills of a master
craftsman.
