was a Glendale boom year, and likewise for its growing fraternal
organization, the Free Masons. Respected local architect Arthur Lindley was
commissioned to design the ambitious nine-story reinforced concrete crown
jewel. A mixture of Mediterranean and Art Deco elements, this tower was for
many years the tallest structure in the city. Easily dramatic enough to
serve as a stand in for a Ghostbusters movie backdrop, the temple is
currently closed - awaiting a new generation of initiates and the mysteries
