Zane Grey Pueblo Hopi-styled pueblo has a ghost of a host.

User Rating:
If you
need a break from the fraternity-row party atmosphere of lower Avalon,
consider the peaceful perch of the Pueblo. Embedded in the cliff at the top
of Chimes Tower Road, the Zane Grey continues to represent the acme of
serenity as envisioned by the former owner, a sanctuary from which he
planned -- and then wrote about -- his exploits. Outlying buildings
constructed for the writer's brother have been converted to hotel rooms,
and the remainder of the main residence has been turned into guest quarters
as well; a generous swimming pool and terraced sun deck has been tastefully
fitted in the space between the two. The uppermost floor of the residence
remains a private enclave of the current mortgage holder. Although
amenities are few, they are immaculate. Each room is finished in spartan
Southwestern, the period fashion. There are no radios, televisions or other
electronic distractions; alarm clocks are available on request. The service
is impeccable. There is a small library stocked with selections from the
author's 89- issue body of work. Divided by a shotgun hallway, picture
windows forever frame views of canyon/hillside vistas and the azure Pacific
horizon. -- WEBSITE-TO-GO!
